We are now entering the final part of the Group Stage of the IPL 2022, and things are looking really exciting as the race to earn one of the four Play-Off spots gets tighter and tighter. As things stands in the Indian Premier League, only the Gujurat Titans have booked themselves a spot in the last four, while there are seven other teams battling it out for three spots. Things will become much clearer after this match between the Punjab Kings and the Delhi Capitals as it is a must win game for both. Below is our prediction of who will win the game.

Punjab Kings Team Preview

The Punjab Kings have been really inconsistent in the tournament to date, but they seem to be getting their act together at the correct time. They have been forming at their full potential and have picked up a number of thumping wins recently. At this moment in time, they are seventh in the table with 12 points from 12 matches, and they have a pretty good Net Run Rate, which could be very useful once all the Group Stage matches have been played.

Their last games was against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, and they won the game by a whopping 54 runs. The RCB won the coin toss and opted to field, so the PBKS knew that they needed to put a big score on the board or risk their competition coming to an earlier end. They put a score of 209 on the board thanks to a staggering 66 from 29 balls by Jonny Bairstow and a 70 from 42 by Liam Livingstone. They got off to a flier, and found themselves with 60 runs on the board after just 5 overs.

Livingstone was the top scorer for the PBKS, but we were actually more impressed by Bairstow's knock, since he ended up with a strike rate just below 230. It was some serious display of aggressive batting, as was Livingstone's knock to be fair. If these two players keep on firing like this, then they will have every chance of making it to the Play-Offs.

Online cricket betting is really popular now, and the main reason for its popularity is that fact that cricket gamblers have a huge number of markets that they can put their cash on. For instance, a great market that we always enjoy betting on is the Top Batsman market, since the odds that are on offer aways lead to a nice profit if you predict correctly.

So, who do we reckon will be the Top Batsman for the PBKS against the Delhi Capitals? Well, Bairstow is a pretty good shout we think, but we are going to go with Livingstone. The reason for this is that he has been more consistent throughout the competition, and has scored 395 runs at an average of 35.00. Thus, if you are going to be making such a bet, he is the player that we recommend.

With 209 runs on the board, the PBKS would have been quietly confident of winning quite easily, and this is what they did. They reduced the Royal Challengers Bangalore to 104/5 at just over the halfway stage, and they were never going to let the match slip from there. The top batsman for the RCB was Glenn Maxwell, who scored 35 off of 22 balls.

The best bowler for the PBKS was Kagiso Rabada, who picked up 3 wickets from his 4 overs, conceding just 21 runs. Rishi Dhawan and Rahul Chahar chipped in with 2 wickets each with an economy of 9.00 and 9.25 from their 4 overs, while Arshdeep Singh and Harpreet Bar collected a wicket each. Overall, this was a great bowling effort from the whole unit, and it was impressive to watch.

If you want to do some IPL betting on another great market such as the Top Bowler, then we do we reckon will be the Top Bowler for the PBKS? Well, there is one PBKS player that we really like the look of, and this is Rabada. The lad has picked up 21 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 16.38, so you certainly would not be chucking your money away if you put a bet on him to be the top bowler.

When it comes to changes to their Playing XI, we expect to see the same starting XI that dismantled the RCB, unless, of course, one of those is sick or picks up an injury before the match.

Delhi Capitals Team Preview

The Delhi Capitals are another side that has blown hot and cold throughout the competition, but they will be happy with the position that they are in currently. Thanks to their very good NRR of +0.210, if they win their next two matches, they will easily make it through to the Play-Offs. However, if they lose either of those, then their tournament will more than likely come to an early conclusion.

Their last game of the competition was against the Rajasthan Royals, and they won by 8 wickets with just under two overs to spare. The DC won the toss and decided that they would field first, so they had to try and restrict a really dangerous RR batting line-up to a manageable score, and they would have been happy at the halfway stage of the game, having restricted them to 160 from their 20 overs. They did something that not many bowling units have been able to do this year and that is stop Jos Buttler from making runs.

The pick of the bowlers for the DC was Chetan Sakariya, who picked up a couple of wickets for 23 runs from his 4 overs. Anrich Nortje and Mitchell Marsh also picked up 2 wickets, while ShardulThakur and Kuldeep Yadav did not pick up a wicket, but they only conceded 47 runs from the 7 overs that they bowled in total.

If you sign into one of your IPL betting sites to bet on a Top Bowler for the DC, then who would we recommend you place your hard-earned money on? Well, although Yadav did not get any wickets in the last game, he still bowled very well, and spin is getting hard to play with each passing match - as can be seen from the decrease in number of runs scored. In this competition, he has picked up 18 wickets at an average of 20.67, and we would back him to take the most wickets.

With 161 needed to win, the DC got off to the worst start possible when Srikar Bharat fell to the second ball, but then David Warner and Marsh put on a staggering partnership of 144 to all but take their side over the finish line. Marsh was the top batsman with 89 from 62, but things could have been much different if the RR reviewed an LBW appeal when he was on 0. Warner scored 52* from 41 balls and showed his talent yet again.

If you want to make an IPL prediction on the Top Batsman for the DC against the PBKS, who would we back? Well, how can you not back someone like Warner? The guy, despite being one of the most disliked players in the game, is a run machine. From the 10 matches that he has played, he has scored 427 runs at an average of 61. So, that is who we would be putting our money on.

When it comes to the Playing XI for the DC against the PBKS, we do not expect there to be any changes, unless they are forced to make one due to injury or sickness.

Toss Prediction

At the start of the 2022 Indian Premier League, the toss was playing a major part in deciding the team that would go on to win the match. In fact, early on, the team that won the toss would win the match 70% of the time. This was because there was plenty of dew about and, anyone who has played cricket in wet conditions will know how hard it is to grip a wet cricket ball.

However, things have turned around now - out of the previous ten matches, the team that has won the coin toss has won five times, while the team that lost the toss has won five times. From the five coin toss winners that won the match, three of them opted to bat first. Thus, when it comes to our toss prediction, we think that the captain that wins the toss will decide to bat first and try to get a big total on the board.

Pitch Conditions

This match will take place at the DY Patil Stadium, and the average first innings score here stands at 170. The average winning score when batting first here is 185.00, while the team that has batted first has won nearly 50% of the time. Thus, the batting team will be looking to get a score of about 180 on the board. Yes, the average winning score batting first is 185, but the conditions are changing, and scores are getting lower.

Our PBKS vs DC Betting Tips

It has been tricky correctly making a match prediction today for this year's Indian Premier League, and this match today is another one that is not easy to predict at all. The franchises in the 2022 IPL are just so evenly matched, and anyone can beat anyone on the day. However, for this game, the franchise that we predict will win is the Delhi Capitals as we feel that their batsmen are in better form at the moment, and they also have a decent bowling unit.
