These two teams have a huge advantage over the other two teams because they have two chances to get to the 2021 IPL final. Delhi Capitals Team Preview
Losing their final group game to the Royal Challengers Bangalore would have annoyed the Delhi Capitals because they made basic mistakes and looked less motivated than in their previous games. They will have to pick themselves up again for this very important game against tough opposition.
The Delhi Capitals beat the Chennai Super Kings in their previous matches thanks to having superior fast bowlers. The likes of Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, and Avesh Khan tested the CSK batsmen with some short-pitched bowling. We expect the same this time around and the Dubai wicket will offer assistance to the bowlers. If you are thinking about betting on the top bowler for the DC, then it might be wise to take a look at Nortje.
Their batting seems to be a little short as they continue to play with just three overseas players, meaning that they have left quality such as Sam Billings on the bench. We do not think they will change anything for this important game, so Ripal Patel will likely continue in their starting XI. Overall, though, the Delhi Capitals have quite a strong batting lineup, with the likes of Shimron Hetmeyer being in great form down the order.
Chennai Super Kings Team Preview
The Chennai Super Kings have lost their last three games which has definitely thrown them off their rhythm. Before these runs of defeat, they were looking like the team to beat in the 2021 IPL, but it looks like the ghosts of the 2020 IPL might have just started to resurface. We do not think that they will change their lineup for this game.
They will line up in the same way they have for the last three games and will hope that the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Faf du Plessis, and Amabati Rayadu find some way to combat the very good Delhi Capital bowling attack. Gaikwad, who has been on fire this IPL, will be tested by the short ball and we, for the sake of the game, hope that he takes some time to have a look before he tries to get on top of the bowlers. Du Plessis is the man for the major occasions and if you are looking at betting on the top batsman, then he is definitely worth a look.
However, the CSK middle-order is pretty weak with Dhoni not performing, Robin Uthappa has not been scoring runs either, while Moeen Ali is a bit hit and miss. If the CSK go on to lose a few early wickets, then their one-dimensional approach could see them lose.
Toss Prediction
The captain that foes on to win the toss will more than likely opt to field first. Batting last is a big advantage and you should take this into consideration when you are making your bets. Seven of the last matches that have been played at the Dubai Stadium have been won by the side that has batted second.
Pitch Conditions
The weather will certainly not be an issue and the captains will only be worried about the dew that is bound to form in the second half of the match. The Dubai pitch has been pretty good for batting when compared to the two other surfaces. The batsmen, up until now, have enjoyed a decent amount of carry and pace, and we can expect the same in this game. The wicket will slow down, and this brings the spinners into the match after the tenth over.
