We have now reached the 69th match of the IPL 2022, which means that there are only six games left before we know who the champions of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League are. The 69th match sees the Mumbai Indians, who have nothing but pride to play for, take on the Delhi Capitals, who have everything left to play for. Who will go on to win this match? Well, take a look at our prediction of who will win the game all our views will be revealed.

Mumbai Indians Team Preview

The Mumbai Indians have had a shocking tournament and are more than likely going to finish dead last, unless they can win against the DC and hope that they boost their Net Run Rate considerably so that they overtake the Chennai Super Kings in 9th. Even if they do not end up at the bottom of the pile, it has still be a remarkably poor tournament for Rohit Sharma and his men.

In their last game of the competition, they took on the Sunrisers Hyderabad, and ended up losing by 3 runs. The MI won the coin toss and decided to bowl first, hoping that they could restrict the SRH to a reasonable total to chase. However, thanks to a 42 from 26 by Priyam Garg a 76 from 44 by Rahul Tripathi, and a 38 from 22 by Nicholas Pooran, the SRH managed to score 193 from their 20 overs.

The pick of the bowlers for the MI was Ramandeep Singh, who picked up 3 wickets for 20 runs from the 3 overs that he bowled. Jasprit Bumrah also bowled really well, picking up a wicket and only conceding 32 runs from the 4 overs that he bowled. Riley Meredith was the most expensive bowler for his team, going for 44 runs from the 4 overs that he bowled.

Online cricket betting is something that has gone on to become very popular nowadays, even for those who would not consider themselves to be big cricket fans, and this is because of the variety of markets that are on offer to bet on. If you are thinking about doing some cricket betting and want to place some wagers on the Top Bowler for the MI against the DC, then who do we suggest you bet on?

Well, we think that Bumrah is a good bet, since he has been back to bowling at his best recently. In the 13 games that he has played in this season, he has picked up 12 wickets at an average of 29.83. Yes, this average is high, but it is wickets that count when it comes to the Top Bowler, and we have a sneaky suspicion that Bumrah will land a couple against the DC.

With 194 runs needed to avoid yet another defeat, the Mumbai Indians knew that they needed to get off to a really good start, and they did thanks to a 48 from 36 by Rohit Sharma and a 43 from 34 from Ishan Kishan. However, from 101/1, they slipped to 144/5, before Tim David came to the crease and started hitting sixes for fun, scoring 46 from jut 18 balls. He could have won it for his side, were it not for one of the stupidest run outs you will see on a cricket field.

If you want to do a bit of IPL betting on the top batsman for the MI against the DC, then who do we think you should put your money on? Well, due to their complete inconsistency, anyone of their batsmen could claim this accolade, but we would be tempted to put our own money on Tilak Varma, who has scored 376 runs at an average of 37.60 in this year's competition.

Do we think that the MI will make any changes to their playing XI for this match? Well, with nothing on the line, our guess is as good as yours as they could decide to make a number of changes. We will just have to wait and see what they opt for.

Delhi Capitals Team Preview

While the MI have absolutely nothing to play for, the same cannot be said for the Delhi Capitals. At the current moment the DC are sitting in 5th place, with 14 points to their name, and if they win, they will be level on points with the Royal Challenger Bangalore. However, they have a superior NRR, so they know that a win by any margin will see them sneak that fourth and final Play-Off spot.

Their last match was against the Punjab Kings, and the DC won the game by 17 runs to keep their hopes of a Play-Off spot firmly alive. The PBKS won the toss and opted to field first, so it was up to the DC to put a decent score on the board and put their opponents under plenty of scoreboard pressure.

Their innings got off to the worst possible start when Liam Livingstone dismissed David Warner off the first ball of the innings. However, despite losing one of their best batsmen for a Gold Duck, the DC did not panic, and thanks to a 63 from 48 balls by Mitchell Marsh and 32 from 16 by Sarfaraz Khan, the DC were able to reach a score of 159 from their 20 overs, which was a par score on that batting wicket.

If you are using IPL betting sites to bet on the Top Batsman for the DC, then who would we stick our money on? Well, it would have to be Marsh, and the Aussie all-rounder has been in some fine form as of late. He has only played 7 games this season, but he has scored 215 runs at an average of 35.86. If you do not think that Marsh will top score, then Warner is always a good bet for such a market.

With 159 on the board to defend, the DC bowlers knew that there was not a lot of room for error, and the majority of their bowlers put in a solid bowling performance to restrict the PBKS to 142 and win the match by 17 runs. The pick of the bowlers for the DC was Shardul Thakur, who picked up 4 wickets for 36 runs from his 4 overs, while Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav picked up 2 wickets apiece and only conceded 28 runs from their combined 7 overs. Khaleel Ahmed was expensive, going for over 10 an over, but it did not matter in the end.

If you would like to place an IPL prediction on the top wicket-taker for the DC against the MI, then who would we plumb for? Well, we would definitely be tempted to put our money on Yadav since has performed consistently well throughout the competition and is hard for batmen to get away. From 13 matches, he has collected 20 wickets at an average of 19.30, making him a good bet for such a market.

Do we think that the DC will make changes to their playing XI for this game? Well, most of the team put in a solid performance to win their last game, so we think that the same XI will be given the chance to go out there and win the match and book themselves a spot in the Play-Offs.

Toss Prediction

For the first couple of rounds of matches in the 2022 IPL, the coin toss was playing a very big role in deciding what team would win the match and claim the two vital points that are available for a win. This was because in the evening, dew was falling which meant that the team fielding second had to contend with a soaking wet ball, making bowling and fielding much harder. At one early stage, the coin toss winner was winning 70% of the time.

However, at this late stage in the competition, the dew seems to be much less of an issue, and does not seem to be having a huge effect on proceedings. As a matter of fact, the team that has won the toss lately has been going on to lose the game. So, with this in mind, it is not easy to make a toss prediction, but we are not going to sit on the fence. We will say that the team that wins the toss will opt to bat first and try to put a large score on the board.

Pitch Conditions

This second last match of the Group Stage will be played at the Wankhede Stadium, where the average first innings score has been 166. The average score needed to win when batting first has been 188, while the team that has batted first at this stadium has won on 41% of the occasion. Despite this, we still think that he captain that wins the toss will decide to bat first.

The team that bats first in this match will look to score around 175. Yes, we are aware that this is 13 runs fewer than the average amount required to win at this stadium when batting first, but the pitches have slowed down and are now harder to score off, so we do not think as many runs will be necessary.

Our MI vs DC Betting Tips

Making a correct match prediction today in the 15th edition of the IPL has been a tricky feat since many of the teams are evenly matches and can beat anyone when they are playing at the top of their game. This match today between the Mumbai Indians and the DC is one that we feel should be won by the latter because not only have they performed much better across the tournament, but we also believe that the fact they have something to play for will play a big role. So, this is why the DC is the team that we predict will win.
