Keep reading to find out our prediction to see who will play the Perth Scorchers on the 27th of November.

Melbourne Renegades Team Preview

The Melbourne Renegades, who are aligned with the Australian men's team with the same name, have had a fantastic early season and found themselves with just two matches left to vie for the top spot. However a late season stumble caused them two losses running up to these finals against Brisbane Heat and Hobart Hurricanes. This cost them a spot in the final, so they will be hoping to bounce back to be with a chance to claim their first WBBL title.

Two overseas marquees are present for their first season at the Renegades, Indian players Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues. Rodrigues is currently ranked 13th in T20 female batters in the world, with an impressive 68 representations of India under her belt as a 21 year old. This is her first taste of a WBBL tournament.

This is Harmanpreet Kaur’s first season with the Renegades and is already selected as part of the Team of the Tournament. Kaur was the first woman to score a century for India in a women's cricket T20I match. She continues to showcase her talent with her highest score in tournament so far being an unbeaten 81-run, while playing Sydney Thunder. In addition, Kaur is currently 10th with 399 runs in this tournament and has taken 15 wickets. We are hoping she can add to her competition best of 18 sixes.

Adelaide Strikers Team Preview

Yesterday’s Eliminator match was a fantastic show from the Strikers showcasing a comfortable eight wickets win, with Amanda-Jade Wellington cementing their victory by producing one of the best bowling displays in WBBL history, taking 5 for 8. Off the back of her superb efforts she rightly received Player of the Match.

Katie Mack and Tahlia McGrath together had an unbeaten 71 run, helping the team to cruise to a victory with still 21 balls to spare. Mack began the chase, gaining her fifth unbeaten half-century all within seven innings, leaving McGrath to help finish. The Strikers will be keen to implement the same plan for this match to hopefully gain some security about heading to the finals.

Toss Prediction

Now we turn our attention to who will win the toss and to see how the match takes its course. The Adelaide Strikers in the Eliminator match yesterday were lucky enough to win the toss and decided to bowl first. We can assume that if they win again in the Eliminator, they will stick to the same winning plan and bowl first again, especially as the match is at the same time of 18:40 ACDT or 13:40 IST. It could be possible that the Melbourne Renegades would also choose to bowl first, ensuring they have a set score to know what they need to chase.

Pitch Conditions

The Challenger match is again at the Adelaide Oval. With just 24 hours separating the Eliminator match, the pitch will have seen a bit of wear and tear. The pitch at the Adelaide Oval often lends itself to the batters, so we hope to see some figures comparative to Match 56 with top scores of 175 from the Strikers.

Our Verdict

This will be another incredibly tight match between these two teams. While the Renegades have been good in the competition, coming off the back of the Eliminator match and having some familiarity playing at the Adelaide Oval, we predict that the Adelaide Strikers could come out on top again. We hope to see the Strikers implement the same winning plan, however, both teams will be coming into this match hard to secure a place the finals to face the Perth Scorchers.

Cricket Australia’s Alistair Dobson highlights that the Finals series is featuring the best of the best. So, if you like to bet on women’s cricket, this will certainly be a nail-biting game and online cricket betting could get you up close to the action.
