Our Match Prediction

India won their first match with significant east against the Kiwis, despite the fact that the match went down to the last couple of delivers. The second T20 match of the three-match series is going to take place at Ranchi, which is another high-scoring venue that should suit the Indian team. Will India win the match to claim the series, or can New Zealand take it to a decider? Read on a find out our cricket match prediction and see if you agree.

India Team Preview

The Indian team did not experiment much with their batting line-up for the first match of the series. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul played their roles freely and this was followed up by Suryakumar Yadav. We expected the Indian top order to do well in home conditions, and they did not disappoint us.

Also, just like at the T20 World Cup, the toss played a role because India won it and had the better conditions. Ruturaj Gaikwad sat out of the first match, but it will be interesting to see if he is given a game in this second match. We believe that he is definitely one for the future.

The middle-order was made up of Rishab Pant, Shreyas Iyer, and Venkatesh Iyer, and this could be seen as somewhat of a weak spot that could be exploited by the likes of Lockie Ferguson, who bowls at express pace. They are not very good at scoring sixes, hitting just the one in the last match, so if you are thinking about doing some online cricket betting, then betting against India to hit the most sixes in the game might be something you want to look at.

Axar Patel played in the last match instead of Yuzvendra Chahal, so there is a chance that the latter will get a game this time, although they will lose a bit of batting depth if that is the case. Ravi Ashwin collected two wickets in the last game, so you might want to look at him for India's Top Bowler market.

New Zealand Team Preview

New Zealand are yet to beat India in a T20 series, and this tour of India got off to a pretty poor start for them. Their batsmen did their job well and were led by Mark Chapman and Martin Guptill, but not having the likes of Jimmy Neesham and Kane Williamson for the series is a huge blow.

Daryl Mitchell is yet to prove himself on the subcontinent, and the same goes for Rachin Ravindra and Tim Seifert. Glenn Phillips does have a history of playing well in the T20 leagues, but he will struggle against the quality spinners that Indian have. Their batting is a bit of a concern, and we would not bet on any New Zealand batting markets in this match.

Their bowling attack is their main strength, but the dew nullified this in their last game. Trent Boult, Mitchell Santner, Lockie Ferguson, Tim Southee, and Todd Astle makes for a great bowling attack. If they can win the toss, then we expect them to be a lot more effective against the Indian batsmen this time around. When it comes to the Top Bowler market for New Zealand, we would recommend you bet on Ferguson as he has a habit of picking up plenty of wickets at the death.

Toss Prediction

The captain that is lucky enough to win the coin toss will decide to bowl first. There is the possibility of dew forming in the second innings, so they will want to avoid having to bowl with a wet ball.

Pitch Conditions

Ranchi will have batsmen-friendly conditions and there should be plenty of runs to be had. There will likely be dew in the second innings, which will favour the team batting second. A par score on this pitch should be about 170, but the team that bats first will want to score at least 190 runs to account for the dew factor later on in the match.

Our Match Prediction

When it comes to betting on this match, the best cricket betting sites, are giving India remarkable odds so we are going to go ahead and put our money on India winning the game and taking an unassailable lead in the series. They have a stronger batting line-up in Indian conditions and their bowling attack should be suited to the spin-friendly surfaces.
