We are back for the second T20I fixture of Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh. Saturday will see Pakistan and Bangladesh face each other again at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur for a 14:00 local time start. Read on to get our cricket match prediction.
1st Match Recap
Until the 17th over, the Tigers were making fantastic work of putting the Men in Green in their place. With another two fallen wickets in the 15th and 17th over, they were well and truly on top. However, after getting a taste of victory, they face another disappointing loss in yet another ICC event as Pakistan took the final lead winning with four wickets from four balls left, with a relatively low final score of 132/6 to Bangladesh’s 127/7.
This was quite a closely contested match, with a few twists and turns along the way, so Saturday will really be one to watch out for. It will be a crucial match for the hosts Bangladesh who will be all out to try and win, to keep the series all to play for.
Bangladesh Team Preview
Bangladesh’s captain, Mohammed Mahmudullah, is hoping they will bounce back for the next match, and we are confident that we will see some fight to level the playing field for the remaining fixtures. Despite starting strongly, their 127 runs is the third lowest score in T20 games against Pakistan.
All-rounder Afif Hossain was the top scorer for Bangladesh, proving his talent after a few disappointing returns during the T20 World Cup, and we expect to see another powerful performance on Saturday. After experienced Mushfiqur Rahim was dropped from the team, Mohammed Mahmudullah needs to create a new plan for his inexperienced team going into the next match.
Pakistan Team Preview
Pakistan managed a good recovery from a shambolic start, needing to chase down Bangladesh’s low score of 128, and ultimately working to beat Bangladesh by four wickets. While both Fakhar Zaman and Khushdil Shar were out caught in the 15th and 17th overs respectively, they had contributed a strong 56 run in the middle play with their alliance. Shadab Khan and Mohammed Nawaz both contributed well with a 36 run unbeaten partnership to clinch victory for Pakistan. However, it was Hasan Ali that was named player of the match.
Pakistan were fantastic at scoring sixes, with Shadab Khan even managing to hit one over the deep mid-wicket for a six in the final over to comfortably take Pakistan to victory. So, if you enjoy online cricket betting in this market, betting against Bangladesh might be something for you to consider.
Toss Prediction
In the first match, Bangladesh were lucky enough to win the toss and they elected to bat first. Mohammed Mahmudullah stated that his decision to bat first was due to the pitch looking good for making runs, However, Babar Azam commented that it was not that easy to score off the pitch. It could be possible that whichever team wins the next toss will again try to bat first, as the pitch begins to degrade further.
Pitch Conditions
The second match is again starting at 14:00 local time. Given that there will be minimal differences in terms of weather and dew impact, we could assume that the pitch conditions will be similar, save for some natural wear and tear carried over from the first match.
Our Match Prediction
It seems as if the best betting sites for cricket are tilting their odds to Pakistan’s favour. After their win on Friday, we are quite confident that Pakistan will be able to get another victory against Bangladesh to go 2-0 up in the best of three series.
