Brisbane Heat Team Preview

Brisbane Heat are going into this match strong, having two titles in the WBBL history already under their belt and coming into this series as semi-finalists from 2020. Their performance has been carried by some exceptionally consistent players by the likes of Georgia Redmayne, Jessica Jonassen, and Grace Harris, granting them the highest total of overs this month (192 in 20 overs) in the tournament to date.

Georgia Redmayne and Grace Harris have shown tremendous consistency in their games this campaign and have bagged five half centuries and four half centuries respectively. Redmayne still tops the WBBL leader board with 436 runs, with Harris just behind with 403. Cricket Australia reports that Redmayne has been named third in the list for the Weber Team of the Tournament.

Overseas player Poonam Yadov is bringing her experience as one of the most successful T20I Indian bowlers and is backed up with a current ICC standing of eighth place. Captain Jessica Jonassen is set to continue the team's intensity coming into this match, and Jonassen will absolutely be raring to add to her 21 wickets that has her at the top of the WBBL leader board.

Adelaide Strikers Team Preview

Despite losing by nine wickets to the Melbourne Stars in their last match, the Adelaide Strikers were already heading into a top four finishing spot. The Adelaide Strikers have some fantastic players spanning both batting and fielding. Katie Mack ranks high in the WBBL leader board having gained 426 runs so far in the tournament, with 51 fours and one six. In their last match opener, Mack had an unbeatable 89 so the Strikers will be hopeful to gain a quick momentum and keep it there.

The Strikers will be hopeful to get another strong partnership from Dane van Niekerk and Laura Wolvaardt, with the example that that topped out at 47 runs in Match 43. Notible mention also goes to Amanda-Jade Wellington, who is without a doubt the star of the Striker’s bowlers, picking up 16 wickets so far.

Toss Prediction

While it’s always a 50/50 chance for who will win the toss, predicting what will happen next is particularly interesting. In the 53 matches that have played in this series, 30 teams have chosen to bat first, and 23 teams have chosen to field first. There have been six matches so far at Adelaide Oval, with five out of six teams electing to bat first. However, the only team to have won at this venue elected to field first.

With the weather not looking particularly stable due to the chance of showers throughout the day, this will absolutely impact the winning team’s decision. However, the Adelaide Strikers have the advantage of playing this pitch on the 21st of November, where they won the toss and elected to bat first, so keep this in mind if you prefer this WBBL betting market.

Pitch Conditions

The second seed Melbourne Renegades selected the Adelaide Oval as the venue for both the Eliminator and the Challenger matches ahead of the final due to border restrictions. The Adelaide Oval stadium often favours the batters, which is usually the right recipe for a high scoring game. However, after so many games, the strip could be feeling some natural wear and tear.

This match is set to take place at 18:40 local time, 13:10 IST, so we will see a slight drop in the temperature as the game progresses.

Our Verdict

It’s looking like this is quite an evenly contested women's cricket match, with serious promise for either team to clinch a victory and to progress one step closer to vie for the number one spot. However, we are currently backing Brisbane Heat to secure the win, barring any obvious mistakes. The best cricket betting sites also have quite even odds for both teams, as this match could really go either way.

Finally, if you are looking for another market to bet on women's cricket, most sixes looks like it could go to Grace Harris for the Heat or Laura Wolvaardt for the Strikers.
