Namibia won their first T20 World Cup match when they beat the Netherlands in their previous match and, as a result, they now have a chance to qualify for the next stage of the competition. Ireland are standing in their way, and they also have one win from two matches. This means that this is a knockout match, and there is plenty at stake for the winner. So, who will go on to win and qualify for the next round? Read our T20 World Cup prediction to find out.

Namibia Team Preview

Namibia chased down a tricky target of 165 in their last match against the Dutch thanks to a great innings by David Weisse. Wiese previously played for South Africa and is still very active on the T20 scene around the world, so it was great to see him give Namibia a chance of qualifying. However, it would have been nice to see a bit more from some of the other batsmen in the team too. For example, the likes of JJ Smit, Gerhard Erasmus, and Stephan Baard are very capable with the bat, but they have not really made a contribution so far.

Also, we will have to wait and see how they adapt to the slow conditions that will be on offer at the Sharjah Stadium. Their bowling attack is not that strong, but we think Wiese and Jan Frylinck could make a telling contribution. We would not recommend that you bet on any other bowler of theirs to be honest.

Ireland Team Preview

Ireland won their first game against the Netherlands really convincingly and caused Sri Lanka a little bit of trouble before succumbing to a great counterattack by Wanindu Hasaranga. The Irish bowling attack is pretty good with the likes of Craig Young, Joshua Little, Mark Adair and Curtis Campher all having genuine wicket-taking abilities.

Simi Singh was very poor in the last game, but he should manage to keep his place in the side since his role as a spinner will be a lot more important at this venue than any other venue at the T20 World Cup.

Ireland will have been very disappointed with their batting performance in the last match and, at the moment, it seems that they are relying too much on Andrew Balbirnie and Paul Stirling to get the runs. Campher and Harry Tector can bat a bit, while Kevin O'Brien can too, but he has been in poor form as of late. If you were thinking about betting on the top batsman for Ireland, we would opt for Stirling or Balbirnie.

Toss Prediction

The captain that wins the toss will want to bowl first. Setting a difficult total can be tricky on this surface, while six of the last eight matches of the 2021 Indian Premier League were won by the side that batted second.

Pitch Conditions

The conditions will be slow and could be the most challenging for batting on that we have seen in the competition to date. The re-laid surface at this stadium does not play how it used to - the balls hold up and spin, and scoring is difficult. You should look at "Under" for the total fours and total sixes markets. The par score should be around 130-140 on this wicket.

Our Match Prediction

We have put our money on Ireland to win this game. However, the match is not a given for Ireland, but we feel that Namibia are too dependent on Wiese to play well. If he fails, then the rest of the team seem to fail as well. We think that Ireland's vastly superior bowling attack and their more experienced batting lineup will see them over the line in this one.
