The first round of the 2021 T20 World Cup will be played between eight teams, and there are four spots up for grabs to play against the Big Boys in the Super 12 Stage. Bangladesh are in Group B, and they are the clear favourites to win the group, and in their first game they will be taking on Scotland, who are definitely contenders to make it out of the group.

Bangladesh Team Preview
Recent series wins against the likes of New Zealand and Australia have raised the expectation levels for Bangladesh fans at the T20 World Cup. However, the fact remains that Bangladesh have been really poor at T20 cricket for a while now, and the conditions that they do well in at home are a far cry from what they will experience in Oman this time around.
We have a pretty good idea as to what we can expect from the Bangladesh starting XI. Liton Das and Mohammad Naim will open their batting, with the batsman coming in at number depending on the state of play. In the past, we have seen the likes of Shakib Al Hasan, Soumya Sarkar and Mahedi Hasan all come in at the fall of the first wicket.
Their middle order will be made up of Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim, while the all-rounders, Nurul Hossain and Atif Hossain will round out their batting lineup. This is a pretty strong batting lineup that has the ability to play some aggressive shots, and they also have the international experience to perform well when under pressure.
Their bowling unit is going to depend heavily on Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, and Al Hasan. If these guys fail to perform, then there is a chance that they might not even make it to the Super 12 stage, and that would be a really big shock.
Scotland Team Preview
Out of the associate nations, Scotland are the strongest and will feel that they have a very good chance at making it to the Super 12 Stage of the 2021 T20 World Cup. They have a decent batting lineup and will feel that they can give any team a game on their day.
The players that you should keep an eye on here are Matthew Cross, Callum MacLeod, Kyle Coetzer, George Munsey, and Richie Berrington. This is a strong lineup, and while they might not be the best against spin bowling, they will be happy to be play at Oman as the pitch has been hard and fast.
However, Scotland do have a big weakness, and this is that they lack a quality spinner, and it could come to harm them in this game. Safyaan Sharif is Scotland's best bowler and we reckon that he will be the top bowler for Scotland in this game.
Toss Prediction
The captain that calls correctly at the toss will probably opt to field first. This is because it can be tricky to defend totals at this ground since the outfield is fast and the boundaries are quite small. We would be quite surprised if the captain wins that wins the toss opts to bat first.
Pitch Conditions
The weather should not be an issue for this match and the pitch will be excellent for cricket. Oman played Sri Lanka in two T20 games before the T20 World Cup, and they were high scoring games where 170 looked to be a par total. There were plenty of sixes in those games and we are expecting pretty much the same in this match too.
Our Match Prediction
We are going to put our money on Bangladesh to win this game. These two teams have only played each other once before and that game was won by Scotland. However, this game was played way back in 2012, and things have changed an awful lot since then. We feel that Bangladesh have a decent batting lineup and that their bowling attack is stronger than any they have had in most recent tournaments. Scotland are a dangerous team, there is no doubt about that, but we think that their lack of spin bowling resources will hurt them.
